Government Defence Anti-Corruption Index 2013

Description

The Government Defence Anti-Corruption Index (GI) is our way of measuring the corruption risk in government defence establishments, the parties which demand defence goods. We examined 82 countries who together accounted for 94% of global defence spending in 2011. We think that providing benchmarks for governments to see what they could be doing better will show how achievable meaningful reform in the defence sector can be. Of equal importance is the ability for citizens—the taxpayers funding this demand—to see what their governments are doing, and not doing, so that they can advocate practical and specific initiatives.
