According to recent polls, Ukrainian citizens consider corruption the biggest problem of the country, and this was the case before the Russian aggression in the East had started . At the same time, the level of trust in government institutions is low: in 2016, 77% of citizens did not trust the VRU, 66% – the CMU, 55% – the President of Ukraine . The number of Ukrainian citizens who think the government cannot fight corruption rose from 80% in 2013 to 86% in 2017 . However, there is no specific data on public trust in defence establishments in particular. On the other hand, the level of trust in the armed forces is still high – 57% in October 2017 .
